Closing the Bones

A beautiful ceremony from the Ecuadorian tradition that traditioanlly supports new mothers postpartum.

I am offering this devotional work to anyone seeking supportive loving holding at any stage of life to support wherever you may be.

I completed my Closing the Bones training in March, 2024 with the wonderful Sophie Messager and I feel so incredibly moved by this work. I feel full of reverence for this path I am being guided along.

This work is in my body, it feels like deep remembering of what has always been.

This 2-3hr ceremony is offered on a sliding scale as I wish for this incredible ceremony to be as accessible as possible.

This devotional ceremony includes:

  • Intention setting & sacred listening,

  • Rocking the body with rebozo/cloths

  • Abdominal and chest massage with oils

  • Wrapping of your body as you sink into loving holding

  • Sound & Reiki

  • Integration time at the end

If you're longing to be held, nurtured, and supported, I'd be honoured to hold this space for you...

I bow to you, at your beautiful temple of creation & change

I kneel at the altar of heart and bone,

in service to all transitions of your body and soul

Woven arms reach out to meet you, rock you, hold you.

Cocooned in cloth of prayer,

wrapped in devotion, held in love

I am gifted these hands to serve

With grace and care

A path of devotion my heart longs to share

Held, rocked, cradled, swayed, pressed, squeezed, felt, heard. Closing Bones offered me a opportunity to lay an anchor into the heart of my body.

Willow was gentle, compassionate, understanding and intelligent in her offering. Her energetic attunements and active listening invited me to lean in and trust, which was so healing and special to receive. She was careful and considerate of my specific needs and preferences, meaning I was able to relax and soak in the feeling of being embraced and nourished.

I could hear the ancient lineage of the practice through Willow's transmission, brought home to the womb tomb, vast and unique in it's way of supporting the body to find recovery and love. I felt revered in my womanhood, as well as seen and accepted. Closing Bones with Willow invited me to rest in the nature of wholeness and gravity, to open into my femininity and connect with ancestral remembrance.

This way of handling healing bodies seems incredibly innate and I’m excited to know that Willow is continuing the lineage of this ceremony. I shan’t forget being wrapped up in sacred cloths and squeezed with love as my vision and limbs sunk into the vast blackness. The richness of love and tenderness Willow devoted to our session truly touches my heart.
